Paintings, Stories and Details
We live in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa, Cape Town and there is so much to see and therefore also to paint. However, having said that, except for District Six, I have not done many paintings of Cape Town and its surroundings. The works here are also mostly some of my earlier works. I have included this page more so to capture the history of my art journey from then to now. I will however add to the page as opportunities arise. Most of the photographs I took myself.
Kalk Bay Street

The Story
A side road, off the main road in Kalk Bay. My wife loves going to Kalk Bay to browse through all the little shops next to the main road and we normally have breakfast at the Olympic Cafe to start off the day. While she was browsing I took this photograph and then painted it. It is now hanging in my mother-in-law’s bedroom in Prince Albert.
